As you know BaSE is an active member of WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation) since 1999. WFTO recently introduce Guarantee System (GS) which means that every member have to monitored and audited by the individual persons or professionals institutes for certain period.
The GS is not a product certification system. It is an assurance mechanism that Fair Trade is implemented in the supply chain and practices of the organization. Members that passed the GS process attain the ‘Guaranteed Fair Trade Organisation’ status and may use the WFTO label on their products.
Last November we had a monitoring audit. And we are very delighted to inform you that BaSE now WFTO Guaranteed Member.
On this occasion, we remember Fr. John, founder of BaSE and pioneer of the Fair Trade movement in Bangladesh.
